Softheon to Sponsor and Present at the 2017 Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference

STONY BROOK, N.Y. August 10, 2017 – Softheon, Inc., a leader in cloud-based health care integration and remediation, today announced that they will be sponsoring, attending, and speaking at the 2017 Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC) being held on August 15-18 in Baltimore, MD.

Bringing together thought leaders from the public and private sectors, this year’s MESC will address uncertainties and challenges in the Medicaid space at a time of seemingly constant disruption. Members of the Softheon team will be present at booth #50 to engage in conversation on these topics, and how Softheon’s solutions are working to address the regulatory and operational challenges present within the evolving state Medicaid market.

Softheon’s Chairman, CEO, and President Eugene Sayan , Managing Director of Sales Dan Hughes , and Vice President of Government Solutions Michael Sasko will host a speaking session on August 17th in room 316, of the conference center. The session will explore the value and benefits associated with establishing a carrier-friendly Medicaid delivery model.

“Ushering the latest version of Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA 3.0), a number of states have faced unprecedented technological hurdles, and are looking for reliable solutions to mitigate risk,” stated Eugene Sayan . “This environment has revealed the need for multifaceted integrated systems that improve service delivery and operations,“ Sayan added.

“The goal of modernization is, in itself, transformative. MITA 3.0 moves states away from a model in which IT systems were highly customized to meet state transactional variations.,” according to Bryan Cole *, Research Director at Gartner. “In its place is a new model in which many states can leverage commercially available IT system modules to enable better beneficiary access to healthcare,” added Cole*.

Softheon’s Medicaid Administration Cloud platform meets the current and evolving needs of state Medicaid programs and health insurance carriers, including those participating with Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) 2.0, New Hampshire’s Premium Assistance Program, and Arkansas’ Private Option. To date, 6 of the 32 states and the District of Columbia have implemented Medicaid expansion through a Section 1115 State Innovation Waiver. An additional 24 states have been granted Section 1115 Waiver approval, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

About the MESC

The national Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (formerly the Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) Conference) is an annual meeting for State, Federal and private sector individuals to provide opportunities for the exchange of ideas related to Medicaid systems and heath policy affected by those systems. The conference has been in existence since the nineteen-nineties and has recently grown to an attendance of approximately fourteen hundred attendees in 2015. States volunteer to host the event and work with a committee of Federal, State and private sector individuals to plan and execute the conference.
