Since March, over 30 million Americans have filed for unemployment, as businesses have been forced to lay off or furlough employees due to the COVID-19 crisis. Economists even expect April’s unemployment rate to be over 16% when it was 3.5% in February and 4.4% in March.

$12B Supreme Court Win for ACA Insurers

In a 8-to-1 decision on Monday, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of insurers on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces in Maine Community Health Options v. United States. The court held that the federal government was obligated to pay the more than $12 billion in unpaid risk corridor payments from 2014 to 2016. (more…)
